I bought Ghost Hunter, by Jayne Castle, “on spec”. I found the title when searching for Historical or Supernatural Romances and Science Fiction Titles. Whilst not strictly any of these Genres, the book does overlap the areas quite nicely.

The story line is excellent being set on a different planet, apparently many millenia after Humans have left Earth and colonised the Galaxy(ies). I like the fact that no attempt is made to identify when, or where, this story is set. The storyline introduces some psi-powers and put me in mind of Anne McCaffreys’ PERN stories or Marion Zimmer Bradley’s DARKOVER novels, although the psi-powers are not the focus of the story.

I wasn’t particularly fond of the narrator however, I am used to listening to people like Steven Fry narrate, so I’m not sure the comparison is fair.

Overall, I would rate this Audio Book as 7.5 / 10.

Jayne Castle is also known as Amanda Quick and JAYNE ANN KRENTZ. Jayne Castle is her brith name and this pen-name is reserved for her futuristic/paranormal romantic-suspense writings. More informatoin on Jayne Castle can be found at www.krentz-quick.com.
